New Cowboy Romance Series Coming to Grand, Montana

There are a lot of things happening in the Altenburg book world, and right now, the Altenburg book world revolves around Montana.
I've just finished up the Endeavour Ranch of Grand, Montana series with Nix McCray and Shauna Walsh's cowboy secret romance story. Nix's first marriage involved a mentally abusive spouse who used Nix's easy-going personality and respect for women against him. The Goodreads reviewer got it. Another reviewer felt the fact that he let a woman run his life made him weak, and she didn't like that in her cowboys. You can buy the book here: The Cowboy's Downfall
I don't think it made Nix weak at all. In fact, the opposite. Nix is a protector, and he believed that's what he was doing--protecting his wife--and he didn't spot the manipulation because he was young, naive, and in love. He's none of those things when Shauna enters the picture.
When I write stories that are high in emotion, I choose to focus less on the circumstances that brought on the darkness and more on the recovery. I like to show the characters' sense of humor, because life is short and laughter is free.
Now. About the new series! It's also set in Grand, Montana, but we're moving away from the Endeavour Ranch and on to the Strong brothers of Grand, Montana.
Raiden Strong, who I believe is the first brother to get a story, makes a brief appearance in The Cowboy's Christmas Baby.

Not the new series either. This is Miles Decker. Tule Publishing does a great job of capturing the right cover models for characters, don't they?
The Strong brothers are ranchers, but I haven't yet figured out what their dramas will be. I already know that Raiden is going to have a fantastic sense of humor. I love laidback cowboys. I don't care if some readers think being chill makes a man weak. Those readers are wrong. :)
And because that news isn't exciting enough, I have more!
My first book in the Roped in Time series, The Cowboy Contract, releases in March, 2026 and I am so, so excited about it.
It's set in Montana as well, but this is a little place called Burning Scrub. I don't have a cover yet, but in the meantime, here's a little teaser for you that should tell you a bit about this new world:
“What are—” He heard a thunk. When he turned, his cheek bumped against a skinny stick of wood that protruded from the side of the building. He touched it. “Is this arrow real?”
The whirr of the fletching in movies was bogus. He hadn’t heard a thing until the arrowhead buried itself in the wood, and only then because it was right next to his head. He and Thundering Buffalo were going to have words.
Tilly tugged on his pantleg. “Get down. If you don’t stay low to the ground, you might get hit by accident.”
“There are rules to these raids?” If so, no one had explained them to him.
“Of course there are rules. We want everything to seem real, but we don’t want anyone to get killed.”
I'm working on the second book right now, and I'm loving it.
I'll post the cover as soon as I get it.
Until then, Happy Halloween! (We've got enough chocolate in this house to last until Christmas.)
